Lucius Seymour Storrs was born in Buffalo, N.Y., on 4 Jan. 1869, the son of Origen and Janet Rankin Storrs. He attended the University of Nebraska where he graduated in 1890 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Storrs returned to the university to complete his graduate work later in life, earning a doctorate in engineering in 1927. From 1890 to 1894 he worked as an assistant geologist for the Colorado Fuel Company, and was a geologist for the Northern Pacific Railroad and special writer for the U....
